Busketeers 10-Year Tour Battle Plan: March Edition (Director’s Cut)

Greetings and salutations, beautiful people! This blog will take a slightly different approach from previous iterations as, quite honestly, there isn’t much to report! But not to worry—weddings and gigs are beginning to populate our upcoming weekends, inevitably bringing with them the storied misadventures of The Busketeers that will (hopefully) transfer seamlessly into an anecdotal format.

So, instead of telling you how the four of us spent the last few weeks taking in nourishment, expelling waste, and inhaling enough oxygen to prevent our cells from dying, we’ll give you the itinerary for the first leg of our Busketeers Ten-Year Tour (hereafter abbreviated to B10YT because it sounds trendy and interesting).

Week 1: March 1st

B10YT kicks off on March 1st at The Book Stop, Tavistock, where we’ll be promoting the vinyl edition of our self-titled 2023 project, The Busketeers. We’ll be performing the album in full just outside the bookstore at 2 PM, followed by vinyl signings and a chin-wag until 5 PM (Tavistock market will also be in full swing if you fancy making an afternoon of it).

The frivolity doesn’t stop there, however, as we’ll then head to The Stannary Brewing Company that same evening for a craft beer-fuelled musical adventure, where we will officially kick off the tour with our bristling artillery of bangers.

Week 2: March 8th/9th

This weekend will be the mother of all throwbacks for us. On Saturday, March 8th, we’ll be hitting the streets of Plymouth for an all-afternoon busking extravaganza to party like it’s 2017. It’s odd how exciting this is for us… none of us have busked in years! Be sure to come say hi as we tap back into the roots of our identity; we’ll be there from midday.

Then, on Sunday, March 9th, we’ll be hitting up the legendary, the one and only… Billy’s Angling Club in Looe. This is one of the first places we ever played, and we invite all loafers, fakirs, rogues, and tinkers to come bang some tankards on the tables and sing some songs with us! Start time: 7 PM.

Week 3: March 14th

On Saturday, March 14th, we’ll be at The Preston Gate Inn, Bude. We played here a couple of months ago, and it was an absolute corker—the staff were lovely, the food was delicious, and it just felt like a proper pub of the people. Highly recommended; we hope to see you there!

Week 4: March 21st/22nd

On Friday, March 21st, we’re packing the vans and heading back to Looe to cook up a musical gumbo hotpot with all the seasoning—this time at The Globe Inn. Cracking pub with a good space to throw some shapes—what’s not to love?

Then, on Saturday, March 22nd, we’re hugely excited to be supporting Southwest musical veterans and legends, Land of the Giants, at Plymouth Depo. For those who have never managed to catch them before—these guys put on an extremely energetic show and will undoubtedly catalyse a memorable and frivolous evening. We will, of course, do all in our power to match this energy.
